The collective « WOAKASS ».
Faced with the social and ecological crises facing our societies, the WOAKASS collective is part of many concrete initiatives and local actions.
Two strands of action:
To respond to migration crises, the collective offers access to fundamental rights for all, such as housing, food, health care or activity...
In the face of climate change, the collective proposes organic farming that is accessible to all.
At the heart of the fight against increasing precariousness, the collective, made up of people from different experiences, agricultural, associative and cultural, urgently welcomed, wants to organise and share these different actions within the same association.
The principles and activities of WOAKASS
Organic peasant activity in Cadalen
Initiatives are developing throughout the world, in France and close to us in Cadalen to show that alternative ways of consuming and feeding are possible.
WOAKASS wants to move towards an ecological transition of our agricultural and food system with:
– An offer of organic fruits and vegetables, without synthetic nitrogen fertilizers and without plant protection products.
More local and seasonal products.
A mix of cultures in the territories.
The land acquired will allow to defend also access to agricultural land to small farmers.
In this sense, we will lease other peasant initiatives.
Acting against injustice
The collective has set up a network of citizen accommodation.
Linking solidarity citizens with people without housing solutions.
In addition to bringing a roof, the association ensures follow-up in administrative and/or legal procedures and works so that these people can regain their lives.
Them: A self-managed house was provided for 6 units, a shared space and medical visits.
Our means do not allow us today to house all the people on the street who request it,
However, we want to provide urgent listening, respect and material assistance to people without status.
We want to go further by proposing a network of activities and remuneration while respecting each other's projects.
Daily activities promoting integration.
In addition to housing and social support, the collective wants to offer solidarity activities, as a first step towards occupational and social integration.
A panel of activities with respect for accompanied youth, their identity, choice and dignity, their difficulties and their potential as human beings.
– French courses
– Participation in the organisation of the daily life of the host house (meals, household, etc.).
– Activities on the Cadalen field, garden management, market gardening, participation in the local market...
– Productive and economic activities linked to the sale of field productions.
– Personal activity: individual project management (leisure, care and professional).
– Finally a mechanical activity within an associative garage.
